Mesake Vocevoce Debut One to Remember

SWIRE Shipping Fijian Drua development player Mesake Vocevoce making his debut for the side in their opening match against the Blues on Saturday will be one etched in his memory forever.

Despite not coming out with a favourable result against the Blues, the 20-year-old said he was happy to get his first taste of the Super Rugby Pacific competition.

“I am happy to debut for the Fijian Drua in our first match even though we did not come out with a win,” the Narewa, Nadi lad said.

“I just want to thank coach (Mick) Byrne for allowing me to prove myself and to be part of this team.”

In the short time Vocevoce has spent with the side, he says he has learned a lot of things that made him a better rugby player.

“I have learned so much since I joined the Drua, and I will continue to grow and better myself and become the best version I can be.”

He said his debut against the Blues was an eye opener, and he was looking forward to what the rest of the season holds.

“It was a good experience for me, playing my first official Super Rugby match and I’m looking forward to what the rest of the season holds for the team.

“I’ve learned a lot of lessons from this game, and it will certainly be one I’ll always remember.”
