Mental focus

THE Vodafone Fiji under-20 rugby team will turn their focus on their mental preparation before they depart the country for Uruguay tomorrow.

The team left Suva for Nadi yesterday focused on the 2017 World Rugby Junior Trophy competition.

Coach Koli Sewabu said they’ve touched on the basics and it’s up to the players to perform their best on game day.

“Our physical training has been up to par and now we’re focusing on our mental and spiritual preparation as we head on to Uruguay,” Sewabus aid. “The message is to stay focused on the task ahead and to make sure our goals are clear regardless of the circumstances that we face and it’s important that they know what is expected from them.

“These players know their roles and how important it is when they face big countries like New Zealand and Australia.”

Fiji will play against Hong Kong on Wednesday 30 and Portugal on Thursday 7. The team is currently based at Capricorn Hotel and will depart Nadi this morning.
