The Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) has extended its services to Fiji in response to global demand.

According to their website www.msc.com, the company announced the extension of their express service to include Fiji in response to “market demands”.

The extended Noumea Express service would connect MSC’s global network to and from Lautoka and Suva on a fortnightly basis via Sydney/Brisbane, enhancing the company’s presence in the Pacific market.

“From November, the service rotation ex-Australia to Fiji will be as follows: Sydney, Brisbane, Noumea, Lautoka, Suva, Sydney,” the site adds.

Fortnightly, calls will be made at the Lautoka and Suva ports.

The shipping company has currently acquired the necessary licence to operate in Fiji through its shipping agent, Coral Sea Shipping PTE Ltd, based in Nadi.

MSC is headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland and has become a world leader in global container shipping since its establishment in 1970.

The company has a global network of more than 675 local offices in 155 countries with more than 100,000 employees with a global fleet of more than 600 container vessels.

Contship 10 and MSC Kanu F are expected to service Fiji as an extension to their Noumea Express service.
