Eight-year-old Elias McKay is the youngest winner of The Fiji Times 152nd anniversary promotion November draw.

“I feel so happy that I have won $152, I look through this newspaper daily,” he said.

The Year 3 Marist Convent School, Levuka, student, who is enjoying his school break with his grandparents in Lautoka, said he was yet to decide on how he would spend the winning money.

His grandfather, Lui McKay, said his wife dropped in The Fiji Times masthead for the promotion using Elias McKay’s name, as the McKay family believed using their children and grandchildren’s names had proven to be lucky over the years.

“When we use the kids’ names, it brings good luck in winning competitions and prizes and that is what we have been doing in the past – using our children’s names and now our grandchildren’s names.”
