THE people of Namosi district are trying to find a profitable market for their dalo and yaqona produce and are seeking assistance from the Namosi Provincial Council.
Having a vast supply of dalo and yaqona annually, the people of Namosi continue to face the problem of not having their produce sold.
Namosi district representative Varasiko Saunivalu said for many years they had faced the problem and farmers were losing confidence in producing yaqona or dalo in the province because they were not earning enough.
He said farmers never got tired of cultivating the land in the past but now they seemed to lose confidence as less income was being generated from farming.
Mr Saunivalu said they raised the issue many times during tikina meetings but nothing had been done about it.
They hoped that the provincial council would help them find a good market. He said another issue that they faced up in the interior was poor road accessibility and bad bridge conditions.
