March visitor arrivals hit record high

Fiji recorded a new milestone in tourism, with provisional figures showing 71,765 visitor arrivals in March 2026.

This marks a sharp 32.4 per cent rise from February 2026, which recorded 54,219 visitors.

Australia remained the leading source market, contributing 30,964 visitors or 43.1 per cent of total arrivals. This was followed by New Zealand with 12,483 visitors (17.4 per cent) and the United States with 10,881 visitors (15.2 per cent).

Other key markets included Continental Europe with 2,808 visitors (3.9 per cent), Canada with 2,626 (3.7 per cent), China with 2,233 (3.1 per cent), and the United Kingdom with 1,398 visitors (1.9 per cent).

Of the 71,765 visitors, 70,518 came by air while 1,247 came by sea. The sea arrivals were mostly seamen on fishing vessels (1,243) and 4 arrivals by yacht. For March 2026 visitors arriving for holiday purposes accounted for 78.0% of total arrivals, 6.7% came to visit their friends or relatives, 3.0% came for business purposes

The figures highlight continued strong demand for Fiji as a travel destination, driven largely by traditional markets in Australia, New Zealand and North America.
