A man in his 50s remains in Police custody after allegedly posting a social media threat to remove Fiji’s Constitution or burn the nation’s capital.
Police say the suspect was questioned by investigators from the Cybercrime Division at the Criminal Investigations Department yesterday and remains in custody while investigations continue.
Authorities have reminded social media users that posts which incite violence, or the sharing of such content, may be investigated under offences including Urging Political Violence, Criminal Intimidation, Malicious Acts Prejudicial to Public Safety and Incitement to Violence.
Police are continuing their investigations into the matter.
