Police are investigating a fatal single-vehicle accident that occurred on Queen’s Road, Navola, last night.
The deceased is in his 30s and was driving back to Suva with a workmate.
He is alleged to have lost control of the vehicle causing it to veer off the road.
“Police and National Fire Authority officers attended to the accident scene whereby the victim was rushed to the Sigatoka Hospital​ but was unfortunately pronounced dead on arrival,” said Fiji Police.
The second victim, a man in his 20s, is admitted in stable condition. Investigations continue.
The road death toll currently stands at 4 compared to 14 for the same period last year.
