MALOLO Rugby held their nerve to secure a hard-fought 25-22 victory over Vinod Patel Ba Rugby Union at Churchill Park Ground Three yesterday.

Malolo went into halftime with a commanding 15-0 lead after dominating the opening 40 minutes with strong attacking play and a solid defensive effort.

However, Ba returned from the break with renewed determination and mounted a strong fightback, putting Malolo under pressure in the second half.

The home side’s resurgence made for a tense finish, but Malolo managed to withstand the pressure and hold on for the three-point victory.

Malolo captain Imanueli Bari praised his teammates for their effort and credited Ba for providing a tough challenge.

“Thank God for giving us this win.

“I thank the Ba team for giving us a good challenge and giving us a good game.

“It was a tough second half, and I thank the Malolo boys for a great effort. Now we will go back and regroup, ” Bari said.

Malolo will now turn their attention to their next assignment as they look to build on the hard-earned victory.
