THE lawyer for a former military finance officer charged with two counts of abuse of office has requested for a month’s adjournment to evaluate the disclosures.
Sarika Devi Raj appeared before Suva magistrate Pulekeria Low earlier this week.
She is accused of failing to declare being the sole proprietor of Maleka Investment, an active vendor for the Republic of Fiji Military Forces which she worked for, and in the process gained $182,404.99.
On August 26, her lawyer Mohammed Saneem confirmed receiving the second phase disclosures.
However, he requested for a month’s adjournment to thoroughly evaluate the disclosures since the statements and disclosures were voluminous.
Ms Raj will have her plea recorded on September 27.
