Vijay Madhavan, a former president of the Senior Golf Association, is optimistic about improving his golfing performance.
He is part of the senior golfers taking part in the 42nd Swire Shipping Fiji Senior Golf Association Open at the Fiji Golf Club in Vatuwaqa yesterday. Despite the challenging nature of his performance,
Madhavan said he remained optimistic about improving his game, particularly his short game.
“My personal performance hasn’t been as good as I hoped, especially when it comes to chipping,” he said.
“It’s something that I’m really focusing on because it’s crucial in a competitive round like this.”
He said the dry weather has been ideal for the competition, which has brought some relief to the players.
“The weather has been consistently good since the first day. The course has dried out, making it easier for us to play,” Madhavan said.
He said appreciated the sponsors, Swire Shipping which played an essential role in organising this prestigious event.
Looking ahead, Madhavan is committed to sharpening his concentration and practice in the remaining rounds.
“After yesterday’s performance, I’ve tried to concentrate more on improving my shots.”
Madhavan said golf was a game that required consistent practice and it’s more exciting than people think.
Meanwhile, the tournament will end tomorrow.
