A PARTNERSHIP between the national air carrier and mobile network provider will enable people to book their airline tickets and pay for their tickets through their M-PAiSA platform.
Fiji Airways general manager corporate communications Shane Hussein said from next Monday, customers would be able to buy a ticket, pay for changes, and purchase prepaid excess baggage using the M-PAiSA system direct on their mobile phones.
“As the national airline, we take great pride in bringing visitors to our home, but equally important, if not more so, is to make air travel accessible and convenient for our local people,” Mr Hussein said.
“That’s what makes today’s deal announcement so significant.”
He said the M-PAiSA platform would open up Fiji Airways and Fiji Link flights to Fijians in even the most remote locations.
“Fijians make up 20 per cent of our passenger numbers, and through M-PAiSA, we believe that this number will grow.”
Vodafone’s head of mCommerce and corporate affairs Shailendra Prasad said the M-PAiSA service was open to Vodafone and Inkk users.
