Fiji parliamentarian Lynda Tabuya believes that working together as a community can help young Fijians.
Tabuya helped organise a volleyball tournament in Nabua (which was then postponed due to bad weather).
In her Facebook page Tabuya spoke on the importance of protecting the youths and promoting unity in communities.
“I believe that the strength of a community is seen when they come together towards a common purpose,” she said.
“The youth and religious groups of Nabua have bonded together with a singular purpose to unify their community.
And they’re doing it through volleyball.
“No one is saying that volleyball will solve all their problems, but what it does is focus the youth of the community away from many negative distractions. I support these projects through prizes during the Nabua volleyball competition this Thursday, November 4.
“I am appealing to the public, especially the former residents of Nabua living overseas, to help in the volleyball tournament.”
Forty 40 teams from Nabua will be competing.
