LTA resources stretched thin to monitor traffic

LAND Transport Authority resources are being stretched thin because of the manpower being used to monitor traffic entering at-risk bridges in the country, says CEO Samuel Simpson.

He said 28 LTA officers – who would normally be utilised in enforcement operations – were being used to weigh heavy goods vehicles in the red zones.

“There’s no doubt about it, the road infrastructure is creaking,” he said.
