Handmade crafts, art, jewellery and clothing by talented women from across Fiji are on display at this year’s Central Division Women’s Expo in Suva.

Held at the Suva Civic Centre from June 12 to 13, the two-day event celebrates the creativity, skill and entrepreneurial spirit of women from all provinces in the Central Division.

Organisers say the expo is a chance for local women artisans to showcase their work, tell their stories, and sell directly to customers, many of whom turned up early on day one to grab unique, one-of-a-kind pieces.

Suva City Council said the event was part of its push to support local talent and revive civic pride.

Visitors can expect colourful displays of mats, masi, handmade jewellery, natural skincare, tie-dye fabrics and more.

The expo is part of the build-up to Destination Suva, a campaign to boost tourism and promote the capital as a cultural hub.

Organisers are encouraging the public to come down, meet the makers, and support local.

Entry is free.
