FOR years, Inoke Ravuiwasa has worked his way through Fiji’s domestic rugby ranks with one goal in mind — earning an opportunity at the highest level.
That opportunity has finally arrived.
The experienced tighthead prop has been signed by the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua for the 2027 Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific season, rewarding a career built on perseverance, discipline and sacrifice.
Originally from Tavuki, Taveuni, with maternal links to Susui, Vanuabalavu in Lau, Ravuiwasa has been a consistent performer in Fiji’s provincial competitions and a long-serving member of the Fiji Police rugby team.
He most recently represented Suva in the Skipper Cup after spending part of the 2026 season in Australia with the Western Districts Lions in Canberra’s John I Dent Cup.
His pathway to the Drua has also included representative rugby, having been part of the Fiji under-20 setup in 2016 alongside current Drua co-captains Temo Mayanavanua and Frank Lomani.
He later represented the Fijian Warriors against Australia Country in October last year and was also part of the Skipper Select side that faced the Drua in the club’s 2026 pre-season trial.
For Ravuiwasa, the signing is the reward for years of persistence.
“I’ve been working towards making this team for a long time, so to finally get this opportunity means a lot to me,” he said.
“All the sacrifices, perseverance and discipline over the years have paid off.”
The 30-year-old said the opportunity would only strengthen his determination to prove himself at Super Rugby Pacific level.
“I’m very grateful to the Drua management for giving me this opportunity, and I’ll continue to work hard, especially heading into the new season.”
Drua general manager Rugby Baden Stephenson said Ravuiwasa’s persistence had earned him his chance.
“He is an experienced and powerful tighthead prop who has consistently performed in Fiji’s domestic competitions, and his hard work and persistence over the years have earned him this opportunity,” Stephenson said.
