Vincent Lobendhan is originally from Fiji and brings more than 20 years of practical engineering experience across design management, structural design, project management, contract administration, and construction supervision.
Mr Lobendhan worked in Fiji and the wider Pacific in the early part of his career, then transitioned to New Zealand with Beca where he has spent most of his engineering career.
He has worked on several iconic infrastructure projects across New Zealand (New Lynn Rail Trench, Waterview Connection, Christchurch Rebuild Alliance, Victoria Park Alliance, Mackays to Peka Peka).
He also had work stints in Australia and in Ireland and returned to Fiji just over two years ago.
Prior to moving to Fiji, Vincent led Beca’s Northern Civil Structures team for five years comprising of more than 50 bridge/ marine engineers and designers.
Mr Lobendhant is quite passionate about the development of Pacifica engineers and is a past president of the South Pacific Professional Engineering Excellence (SPPEEx) group in New Zealand.
Mr Lobendhan’s transition back to Fiji with Beca is to also help set the platform and encourage for more Pacifica engineers in New Zealand/ Australia to return to their pacific homelands and give back and help in national development.
Mr Lobendhan is the Beca – Fiji Country manager and principal.
He holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) from the University of Auckland, New Zealand; chartered Professional Engineer – New Zealand and Ireland.
