THE last time Labasa hosted and won the Fiji FACT on home soil, it was 1992.

More than three decades later, the memories still live strongly in the North.

Now, in 2026, Labasa FC has another chance to create history.

As the BiC Fiji FACT returns to Subrail Park this month, the defending champions are not only chasing another title but also the opportunity to become back-to-back winners in front of their home fans.

Labasa is pooled in Group A with Rewa, Suva and Navua.

For club president Shaheen Hussain, the build-up to the tournament carries both excitement and pressure.

Hussain took over the leadership role from long-serving administrator Reyaz Khan and now finds himself guiding one of the country’s most passionate football districts into another major campaign.

Labasa enters this year’s Fiji FACT carrying momentum after a strong start to the domestic season.

Despite losing several key players following last year’s title-winning campaign, the side has remained among the competition’s most consistent teams in the Extra Premier League,

But beyond football, the return of the Fiji FACT at Labasa is expected to once again transform the town.

And when the final whistle blows at Subrail Park, one of Fiji’s loudest football venues is expected to come alive once again.
