NATIONAL rep Sam Lee is leading day one of the Credit Corporation Pacific Harbour Golf Open at the Pearl Resort Championship golf course in Pacific Harbour yesterday.
Lee shot two over par 72 to take an early lead heading into the final crunch of the competition today.
He is one shot ahead of Olaf Allen Jr who shot 75.
Zoheer Ahmad is third with 76 and defending champion Abid Hussein is hanging in the top four-equation with 77.
Tournament organiser Graeme Bell said the final day would be a thriller.
“All scores are close so we look forward to a tight finish and some very good golf,” the national golf coach said.
Bell said they hoped it would be fine weather today.
“We started the day with fine weather in the morning before the late afternoon showers disrupted the day.
“But we’re hoping that it will be fine weather tomorrow (today) so the golfers could be at their best.”
He said most national reps in Lee, Allen Jr, Ahmed, Hussein, Roneel Prakash, Arunesh Chand and Barroon Hussein would be out to prove their worth in a fight for a spot in the Pacific Games squad next year.
