Fifty schools across Fiji, particularly in remote and maritime areas where access to digital resources remains limited, will soon receive new laptops gifted by the ASCO Foundation.

The laptops were officially handed over to the Ministry of Education in a ceremony held in Nabua, Suva, marking a major step toward promoting inclusive and equitable education nationwide.

Minister for Education Aseri Radrodro officiated the event, reaffirming the government’s commitment to enhancing digital learning opportunities and ensuring that all students, regardless of location, can benefit from technology in the classroom.

The initiative is being supported by Datec Fiji, which will provide one year of technical backup and maintenance for the laptops, ensuring schools receive ongoing assistance to maximise their use.

ASCO Foundation trustee and ASCO Motors Fiji CEO, Ronald Kumar, said the gift reflects the organisation’s mission to bridge the digital divide.

“Every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed, regardless of where they live or what resources they have,” Mr Kumar said.

The gift is expected to boost digital literacy, empower teachers with modern tools, and foster innovation and creativity in classrooms across the country.
