A family residing at Kula Street in Samabula, Suva, were evacuated this afternoon for their safety after a landslide occurred at the height of heavy downpour rendering their home unsafe.
The National Disaster Management Office (NDMO) says it is working with authorities to monitor the landslide.
“We’d like to acknowledge the assistance of our first responders from the Fiji Police Force for their swift action in evacuating the affected family, along with their belongings,” the NDMO stated.
