The Office of the Prime Minister has confirmed the appointment of Selina Kuruleca as the permanent secretary for the Ministry of Education.
Ms Kuruleca will report to her office on Tuesday, August 1, 2023.
Education Minister Aseri Radrodro – who is attending the two-day Kadavu Provincial Council meeting as acting Minister for iTaukei Affairs, Culture, Heritage and Arts –expressed his respect for Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka’s decision.
In a Government statement, Mr Radrodro said the ministry would work with Ms Kuruleca to provide support to teachers, “most importantly provide a holistic education for the children of this nation”.
“Today, the Minister for Education reassures all stakeholders and the public that everything else is water under the bridge. The ministry’s focus as we walk into another new financial year is the implementation of the plans to improve service delivery and to ensure that no child is left behind,” the ministry stated.
The Minister also extended his appreciation to Timoci Bure who held the fort and ensured the education of all Fijian children was not hindered.
