FORMER Ba FC coach Ravinesh Kumar has challenged the process surrounding his termination, claiming he was publicly judged on allegations before he was formally informed of the club’s decision.
Kumar addressed the media yesterday to respond to allegations made against him by Ba FC.
He claimed the termination was announced on Sunday and circulated on social media before he received his termination letter two days later.
“First of all the termination part which was announced on Sunday and it was straight away put on the social media and it was put for the public judgement without letting me know formally and I was given the termination letter two days later,” Kumar said.
He questioned why the matter was made public before he had been formally notified, arguing that the process had affected his reputation.
Kumar also disputed the allegations relating to his use of a Ba FC vehicle, his conduct towards a woman at a sporting venue, his interactions with board members and incidents during the 2026 Battle of the Giants tournament.
He maintained that he had never been given a formal employment contract and questioned the basis on which some of the allegations had been made.
“There is no documentation. There is no contract. There is no vehicle policy. How did Ba FC jot down these allegations on me?” he said.
Kumar denied abusing a woman at the sporting venue and disputed the claim that he had walked out of a video session before the final.
He said he became frustrated when a female board member answered a ringing phone during a motivation session with the players, which he believed disrupted their concentration ahead of the final.
Kumar also questioned the timing of the allegations, saying some incidents being raised had occurred months earlier.
He claimed he was emailed at 2pm and expected to attend a meeting at 4pm without being given an agenda or sufficient information about the issues to be discussed.
He said he had not attended because he believed the meeting concerned celebrations following the team’s success.
Kumar said he was now working with his lawyer to seek evidence supporting the allegations.
“My lawyer has asked Ba Football to provide evidence of whatever allegations they have put on me. We have given them 14 days of notice to give us the evidence,” he added.
He said the next steps would depend on the evidence provided.
Kumar apologised to Ba supporters who may have been affected by the allegations and the public dispute, saying he wanted the public to hear his side of the story.
“However, football should be the winner,” he concluded.
Attempts to obtain comments from Ba FC proved futile when this edition went to press last night.
