Pranav Dakshesh Kumar says he has already set his sights on furthering his education following his graduation from the Fiji National University’s National Training and Productivity Centre Department of Hospitality and Tourism and Travel at the Namaka Campus in Nadi on Wednesday.

Mr Kumar graduated with a Certificate of Attainment in Baking and Patisserie Skills.

A man of a few words, Mr Kumar said culinary arts had been his passion for years.

“I wanted to do this because I never graduated from primary or secondary school, I have always been the lowest scoring student,” he said.

“Now, I want to show everyone and tell everyone that I really graduated this time and next year, I want to do diploma and graduate, I am happy that I have something in my life now.”

Mr Kumar plans to move abroad for work after completing his diploma.

The countless hours spent on perfecting his culinary skills slowly honed his passion specifically for baking.

“I really wanted to learn about cakes, Danish and croissants but I ended up learning so much more.”

Mr Kumar dedicated his achievement to his family.

“My advice to other young people who may not know what academic path to choose is to go for your dreams.”
