The Nadroga Rugby Union and 7s king Waisale Serevi have expressed their support for Franck Boivert in his bid for the Flying Fijians coaching job.
NRU vice-president Velemani Latilevu believes Boivert is the ideal candidate, given his extensive involvement in Fijian rugby for over 20 years across all levels, including women’s rugby, youth programs, secondary schools, and the elite level.
“We, at Nadroga Rugby are happy that Franck has applied for the coaching job, and we know he is the right man for the job.
“He has been with Nadroga rugby in all levels starting with secondary schools and we have seen the fruits of that with Cuvu College now playing competitively in Deans competition, he also involved with women’s rugby and elite level,” Latilevu said.
Latilevu appreciates Boivert’s emphasis on an original coaching style.
“For Boivert, one thing he always stresses is to be original, he doesn’t like copy and paste type of game technique and for that he is the right man for the job because he understands the Fijian game style.
“From Nadroga Rugby, Vanua o Nakuruvarua we wish Boivert all the best,” Latilevu said.
Boivert also received support from 7s legend Waisale Serevi.
In a message to Boivert, Serevi conveyed his best wishes for Boivert’s coaching application.
Boivert had previously assisted Serevi in securing his rugby contract in France.
