As the month of July comes to an end so does the Early Childhood Education (ECE) week celebration around the country.
Last week many kindergartens and daycare centres celebrated ECE week with young students participating in educational activities organised by their teachers.
One school that held it’s celebrations last week was Ratu Emeri Catholic School Kindergarten in Kubulau, Bua in Vanua Levu.
An ECE teacher from the school, Sereana Cama, said that the school had eleven students.
She said the students were from Nakorovou and Nadivakarua village in Kubulau.
“The students got the chance to have a camp fire which was done at the school. The students also went on a field trip to the Government stations in Bua,” she said.
She said for three years there wasn’t any ECE week celebration because of COVID-19.
“So coming together after a lapse of three years, the students and parents enjoyed themselves during the week-long celebration,” she said.
“You can see in the children’s faces that they loved dressing up in their Fijian attire, especially the masi outfits.”
This year’s ECE theme was “Early Learning Matters: Learning through Connections”.
