Businessman Imran Khan, has failed in his bid to withdraw a guilty plea after the High Court in Suva dismissed his application.
Justice Thushara Rajasinghe dismissed the application, finding there was no basis to accept Khan’s claim that he did not understand the true nature of the charge or the consequences of entering his guilty plea.
In June this year, Khan pleaded guilty to one count of contravening a restraining order after breaching a court-ordered asset freeze by disposing of a luxury vehicle bearing the registration plate ‘KNGKHN’.
Khan will be sentenced on July 14.
