Police Blues 7s rugby coach Sale Tubuna believes the Fiji Airways Fiji men’s team will bounce back during Cape Town 7s tournament in South Africa this weekend.
Tubuna, who has been coaching the victorious Police team, says the national coaches would have identified areas to improve on before the big games this weekend.
The Fiji men’s team finished ninth in Dubai while the Fijiana 7s side finished fifth.
The Ben Gollings-coached men’s team is pooled with hosts South Africa, France and Canada while Saiasi Fuli’s women’s team face New Zealand, Great Britain and Brazil.
“It all comes back to their preparation,” said Tubuna, who has several of his Police Blues players in the Fiji men’s team.
“I believe in the boys. I know the coaching staff have identified the team’s weaknesses and they are working on it, but the players are the ones on the field doing the job.
“No doubt they will come back strong because we have our Police officers playing in the team.
“Let us support the boys and they will eventually have a different style of playing come this weekend.”
He added that the three Police players Joseva Talacolo, Filipe Sauturaga and Waisea Nacuqu have been consistent in their performance.
“They have improved on their attack and defence. They are all working hard as a team. “They all need our support whether they win or lose – we still have to support them.”
