Vodafone Fiji Bati head coach Wise Kativerata is in the Lau Group this week with the development team.

Kativerata visited Naroi Primary School on Moala Island and conducted rugby league clinics in all age groups.

The clinics involved students from Year 1-4 and those from Year 5-8.

“We have had the pleasure of conducting our first-ever clinic on this beautiful island with the primary school students,” Kativerata said.

“We were received with great hospitality and humility. Whilst conducting our clinic and talanoa sessions with this group of students, the eagerness of learning this new sport was evident as you could hear a pin drop when they were being addressed about the sport.”

The national coach added it was good to see students’ interest in learning the sport.

The drills involved the basics of the sport and Kativerata is confident more stars will come out from these maritime islands in the future.
