The inauguration of the new TotalEnergies Nokonoko Service Station indicates a conducive environment for both local and foreign investment.

This was the word from Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade, Co-operatives, Small and Medium Enterprises, and Communications Manoa Kamikamica while speaking at the opening of the new services station.

Mr Kamikamica said TotalEnergies arrived in Fiji in 2006 to take the place of another fuel company that left our shores that year, starting with 24 stations.

He said the new facility was the result of the perseverance of the TotalEnergies group and associated stakeholders.

“Today (Thursday) we are celebrating the team’s retail network expansion which features modern service amenities that include a bonjour shop, a coffee corner, a liquor shop and a fast-food restaurant,” Mr Kamikamica said.

“I am delighted to see the team at TotalEnergies open its 34th station in Fiji.”

Mr Kamikamica said it was a new chapter for growth as the group expanded its market coverage and value proposition in Fiji. He said investments were an essential component of any thriving economy, and the inauguration marks a significant milestone.

“Like all exciting investments, this new undertaking will bring forth economic development, create employment for 17 people to manage the station’s on-going operations and strengthen the bond between your esteemed partners and stakeholders.”

The developers and owners of the service station, Dynex Holdings Pte, are also involved in real estate development and have planned to develop the adjacent land into a major retail, commercial and residential precinct.
