VODAFONE Fiji Bulikula head coach, Joe Rabele, praised the debutants and young players in the team for their learning experience over the weekend against Cook Islands.
The team emerged victorious with an 18-6 score in the 2024 Pacific Bowl Championship held at HFC Bank Stadium.
Rabele expressed gratitude for the exceptional leadership of the team’s captain and outstanding players, highlighting their positive impact on the team’s performance.
He emphasised the importance of experienced players like captain Talei Holmes in guiding and setting an example for the younger members of the team.
“The girls really did a great job, we are so blessed to have an amazing captain and an amazing player behind us and that really shows in our performance,” said Rabele.
“We got our experience girls we got our captain Talei Holmes and few other players who are the pioneer of this team, so they are the ones that leads this team by example, especially for young girls and debutants.
“Our local four girls also did well, hopefully they learn a lot ahead of our match this weekend.”
Looking ahead to the upcoming match against Samoa, Rabele emphasised the need for improvement and urged the players to continue playing with determination, speed, and a wide ball distribution strategy.
He recognized the collective effort of the assistant coaches and management in securing the victory against Cook Islands.
Rabele extended his gratitude to everyone involved in supporting the team, including sponsors and families.
He credited the players for their belief in themselves and thanked them for their hard work and dedication.
