THE Vodafone Fiji Bulikula will face a highly prepared Australian Jillaroos side in their Women’s Rugby League World Cup semi-final this Sunday.
And the Jillaroos plan to leave no stone unturned in ensuring their quest for success is fulfilled against a team of trailblazers making their WC debut.
It’s the word from ‘Roos winger Abbin Church, who said his side has maintained its usual preparation routine since the tournament began last month.
Part of this process that has served them well in recent weeks is reviewing each match to identify areas that needed improvement.
Although the Jillaroos remained focused on their own standards, she acknowledged the challenge Fiji would bring to the semi-final.
“We know they’re going to come out this week, and we have to obviously be prepared for that,” Church said.
The Bulikula booked their place in the semi-finals after an impressive 54-6 victory over France last Saturday, marking a historic campaign for Fiji at the tournament.
The Fiji Bulikula are facing the biggest match in their history, with everything on the line as they prepare for a high-stakes World Cup semi-final showdown against the home side.
For a side that only made its Rugby League World Cup debut this year, their journey to the knockout stages has been nothing short of extraordinary.
Head coach Jone Wesele’s band of fearless young ladies have continuously shocked fans with their tenacity, grit, and outstanding on-field performances, proving they belong among the elite of international rugby league
The Bulikula take on the Jillaroos on Sunday at 6.45pm, at the Allianz Stadium in Sydney, Australia.
