He shared how the welcoming reception he got when he was firstly introduced to the members of the USP volleyball teams.

“They were so welcoming and made me feel right at home, with their smiles and kind gestures and this was really nice to see and experience,” Jeong said.

Then he added this was an experience he would be cherishing for the rest of his life, and it was something he looked forward to sharing with his colleagues, friends and families back in South Korea.

Jeong formerly played volleyball in the Incheon City based, Inha University team and was also a physical education secondary schoolteacher.

A former volleyball player himself, he was amazed to see the huge amount of people playing volleyball in Fiji and was even more impressed with the level of interest and participation showed by youth in the country.

“Volleyball is very popular in Fiji and I will be teaching my students back home about the sport of volleyball and also I will be sharing with them how exciting it was for me to watch Fijians play the game.”

Jeong and his family were amongst the other supporters braving the heat and cheering for their teams at the LICI courts, yesterday.
