JASPER Williams High School has successfully defended their West Secondary School Rugby Union U18 Raluve title after defeating Natabua High School 20-10 at Churchill Park in Lautoka on Saturday.
The match served as the curtain raiser to the McDonald’s Fiji Drua Women and Queensland Reds Women semi-final.
In a closely contested encounter, Jasper Williams crossed the try line four times through Lusi Gonewai, Kalesi Solei, Emily Cevalawa and Adi Kelerayani.
Natabua High School fought hard throughout the match and managed to score two tries through Esther Tui and Aliti Ratudradra, but it was not enough to stop the defending champions.
Jasper Williams captain Ledua Grace credited their success to teamwork, humility and their faith.
“I would like to thank God for helping us win this match,” Grace said.
“Our main message was to stay humble, work hard and make sure we work together. We needed to stay connected and leave everything to God.”
The victory confirms Jasper Williams’ dominance in the West U18 Raluve competition as they continue their push for another successful season.
