TWO of the four prisoners accused of escaping from the Suva Corrections Centre last week have pleaded guilty to escaping from lawful custody.
Emosi Rokovesu, Daniel Koroivuki, Selema Nasilivata, and Daniel Koroivuki made their first appearance before Magistrate Yogesh Prasad on June 2.
All four, who are jointly charged with escaping from lawful custody, opted to represent themselves.
Rokovesu, 23, is serving time for assault and criminal intimidation; Koroivuki, 24, for robbery and criminal intimidation; Nasilivata, 29, for aggravated robbery; and Luveitasau, 26, for robbery.
Rokovesu and Koroivuki pleaded guilty to escaping from the corrections centre around 8pm on May 28.
Rokovesu was caught at Newtown while Koroivuki was arrested at Nakasi. The two will be sentenced on June 23.
Nasilivata and Luveitasau were unfit to take their plea and have been given 14 days to do so. Both men were captured separately at Nakasi and at Balabala Crescent, Newtown respectively. They will take their pleas on June 16.
All four have been remanded in custody until then.
