One of the largest distributors of Italian wines across the globe is bringing their wide range of products to Fijian shelves.
Ethica Wines has partnered with Lawhill Fiji Group of Companies to distribute their wines through their distribution arm – Lawhill Wines.
The partnership was solidified through a launch held this week at the Sails Restaurant at Port Denarau where invited guests were treated to a fine dining experience featuring a number of the Ethica Wines expected to be into the local market.
Ethica cofounder Giovanni Oliva said they started the company in the Asia Pacific region in 2014.
“We also offered a wide and complete range of integrated services, that includes commercial, logistic, communication and marketing tools, either to the local traders but also to the benefit of the beautiful families of winemakers, whom we have the pleasure to represent in the region,” he said.
“We saw in fact a great opportunity, given the fragmentation and complexity of the Italian wine industry, and in general a lack of awareness and knowledge about Italian wines, which instead are a fundamental part of the Italian culture and tradition, loved by so many people around the world.”
Lawhill Fiji’s Neil Underhill said they were extremely proud that ETHICA had chosen Lawhill Wines to be their partner in the region.
“Adding a fine range of Italian wines to our existing wine offering is the start of strategic re-definition of the Lawhill Wines portfolio,” he said.
“This market is ready for wines from the Old World to be alongside wines predominantly from Australia, New Zealand and the USA.
“To begin we have 33 wines available and we plan to expand the range during the year.
“We recently were fortunate to employ a highly qualified wine educator and professional sommelier Kelley Michael Schafer, who manages our wine division.
“Lots of our customers have used Kelley’s knowledge by conducting ongoing wine training for staff.”
