Israel aid

FIJI continues to receive support from the Israeli Government and yesterday it was through the gifting of 12 solar panels to the Ministry of Agriculture.

Agriculture Minister Inia Seruiratu, while receiving the solar panels, thanked Israel’s Pacific Island’s adviser Yaron Sultan-Dadon for their continuous support in assisting Fiji especially Vuma Village on Ovalau during the rehabilitation phase after Severe Tropical Cyclone Winston.

Mr Sultan-Dadon said the Israeli Government knew how tough the situation in Fiji was and wanted to help in whatever way they could.

“We feel it’s our duty to be here with our friends and family, for me it’s about family. In Australia when they ask me on the street where I am from, I say my village is Vuma Village in Fiji,” Mr Sultan-Dadon said

“This is the fourth time I’ve been here in Fiji and I already feel that I’m coming home. We are very excited about the partnership and the co-operation that we have been working together with our friend, the Minister for Agriculture.”

The distribution of the solar panels will be decided later on by the National Disaster Management Office.
