Isoa Koroinawai, a 19-year-old from Vuna, Taveuni, has big dreams of one day playing for the Fijian Drua or Flying Fijians.
Currently, he is a part of the SportsWorld Fiji under-20 team for the upcoming Oceania U20 Rugby Championship in Sigatoka.
For Koroinawai, rugby has always been a passion. As a child, he dreamed of reaching great heights in the sport, and being a part of the Fiji U20 team is a significant achievement for him.
His journey through Queen Victoria School, where he has been part of the U18 Schoolboys team and Fiji Warriors, has provided him with numerous opportunities to showcase his talent.
“Preparations have been going well, it’s great to get to know each other with the boys and work as a team,” said Koroinawai.
“My dream as a child is to reach somewhere good in my rugby journey, being part of the Fiji U20 team is something big for me, and it wont just stop here, i will push forward to reach the top.”
He is determined to work hard and make his mark, not only for himself but also for his parents back in the village.
In addition to the local talents, the SportsWorld Fiji under-20 team also includes 11 overseas-based players who bring a wealth of experience to the squad.
