Investment Fiji has confirmed David Group Pte Ltd had registered with Investment Fiji in July 2022 and its registration pertained to integrated resort development.
The David Group has recently been outed by its Fijian consultant,Sandeep Singh as a bogus company that had wanted to establish a multi-million-dollar casino and sports facility in Nadi.
“Investment Fiji would like to emphasise that we did not facilitate any meetings for David Group Pte Ltd,” said Investment Fiji CEO Kamal Chetty.
“Like any other prospective investor, they approached Investment Fiji to explore the process of investing in Fiji, and we met with them accordingly.
“David Group Pte Ltd independently organised their own meetings.”
Mr Chetty said since the enactment of the new Investment Act 2021 on August 1st, 2022, Investment Fiji has transitioned into a fully-fledged investment and trade promotion agency.
“As part of this transition, the organisation is no longer responsible for the issuance of the Foreign Investment Registration Certificates.
“However, Investment Fiji continues to facilitate investment projects and conducts internal due diligence on investors,” he added.
