RUGBY legend and globally celebrated sports leader Waisale Serevi is the official brand ambassador for insurance service provider Capital Insurance Limited (CIL).
The announcement was made in Suva on Tuesday by the executives of Capital Insurance.
According to the company, this partnership reflects its commitment to building resilience, advancing financial literacy, and protecting families, businesses, and communities across the Pacific. And given Serevi’s well-known humility, leadership and dedication to youth development, it said he would be a powerful advocate for the company’s purpose-driven mission to protect dreams and strengthen futures.
“I’m humbled and grateful to officially join Capital Insurance as their brand ambassador for the Pacific,” Mr Serevi said. “This partnership means a lot to me, not just because of who they are as an insurer, but because of the values they stand for.
“I know what it’s like to grow up where financial security doesn’t come easy. I know the pressure families feel when disaster strikes or illness knocks at the door. And I know how powerful it is when someone says, ‘don’t worry – we’ve got you’.
“That’s what Capital Insurance does, and I want to help share that message – across Fiji, across the Pacific and across generations.
“This isn’t just about insurance. It’s about dignity. It’s about hope. It’s about giving our people the confidence to dream, to grow, and to bounce back stronger – no matter what life throws their way.”
Capital Insurance Group chief executive officer Jeremy Norton said the partnership went beyond branding.
It was a meeting of values, he said.
“Mr Serevi embodies humility, excellence and service – qualities that deeply reflect who we are at Capital Insurance. As a trusted regional insurer with deep roots across the Pacific, we believe in the power of community, protection, and purpose. Mr Serevi’s voice and leadership will help us connect more authentically with the people and partners we serve every day,” Mr Norton said.
Company chief executive officer David Ariff Chan welcomed Mr Serevi into the CIL family.
“We look forward to the inspiration and impact this partnership will bring,” Mr Chan said.
In the months ahead, Mr Serevi will work alongside CIL teams to support community outreach, raise awareness around insurance and resilience, engage with clients and partners and empower the next generation through platforms like the Serevi Rugby Academy, he said.
