The Consumer Price Index (CPI) for the month of June slipped further down to 2.3 percent.
This compares to the CPI rate of 2.9 percent in May.
The Fiji Bureau of Statistics said the Consumer Price Index [CPI] is compiled to indicate average changes in the prices of goods and services purchased by households nationwide.
This data is based on monthly price collections carried out in the urban areas of Suva, Lami, Nasinu, Nausori, Lautoka, Nadi, Ba and Labasa.
The price increases in June were recorded for alcoholic beverages, tobacco and narcotics, food and non – alcoholic beverages and health services.
Communication, restaurants and hotels, education, recreation and culture, housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels, transport, furnishings, household equipment and routine household maintenance and clothing and footwear all recorded reductions in prices.
