A technology services company from India has set up a branch in the country.

JMR Infotech is a banking and financial services software provider and focuses on end-to-end solutions and services for building and growing banking technology environments.

At the launch in Suva last week, company founder and chief executive officer Dr Jayafar Moidu expressed his gratitude and excitement towards expanding to Fiji and setting up in the Pacific.

“I’m truly honoured and humble to be expanding into this country and into the Pacific,” Mr Moidu said.

“This isn’t another banking financial services because here in Fiji, you have an opportunity to build financial services not just for the economy but for the real life, not just first but fair and not just digital but human.

“Fiji has something that most large countries don’t have and that is public trust and strong community rooted bank and financial institutions which can elevate your country and people.”

The IT service company offers an entire stack of financial services in software solutions, including oracle financial services analytical applications and oracle FLEXCUBE from India’s Oracle financial services software cooperation.

The company aims to help banks and financial institutions set up its own banking solutions in management, implementation and a quality support unit at a reasonable cost.

Deputy Prime Minister and Trade Minister Manoa Kamikamica said JMR’s expansion to Fiji was a wonderful moment because it would continue to consolidate Fiji’s position as the hub of not only the Pacific but the entire southern hemisphere.

“I am starting to say, we can now be the hub of the entire southern hemisphere because of what we can do here.” Mr Kamikamica said in his address.

“What JMR is wanting to do in Fiji will set up apart again in our region and of course the opportunity brings forth innovation and growth in Fiji and the wider Pacific,” he said.

JMR Infotech provides services such as resell, implementation, maintenance and support for the entire product suite from Oracle solutions offering, including core banking, direct banking, private banking, Islamic banking, investor servicing and enterprise performance management, enterprise risk management, customer insight and financial crime and compliance management, Oracle’s revenue management and billing for financial services, core insurance solutions and insurance consulting solutions.
