BRUMBIES captain Ryan Lonergan said the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva was a ‘hostile’ environment for the players that are new to this level of the Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific.
Following their 36-32 win over the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua on Saturday, Lonergan reflected on what it was like playing the Fijian side at their home turf.
It was the team’s first time playing in Fiji and they got everything they were expecting including a hard-fought last-minute win thanks to some big play by flanker Luke Reimer.
“It sort of smacks you in the face a little bit,” he said after the match.
The Brumbies became the first Australian team to beat the Fijian Drua in Fiji.
