Homsy wins GM award

Radisson Blu Resort Fiji general manager Charles Homsy has been honoured with the prestigious general manager of the Year 2022 award.

The award is a testament to Mr Homsy’s remarkable accomplishments and his invaluable contributions to the success and growth of the resort.

Throughout his tenure, Mr Homsy has reportedly consistently displayed a remarkable ability to drive the company forward, navigate challenges, and exceed expectations.

His strategic vision, innovative thinking, and meticulous attention to detail have apparently not only ensured the profitability of the organisation, but have also positioned it as an industry leader.

The accolade not only highlights Mr Homsy’s accomplishments, but also acknowledges the unwavering support and trust placed in him by the company’s owners.

The leadership of the owners and the entire management team has been pivotal in creating an environment that fosters innovation, encourages growth, and rewards excellence.

Mr Homsy has taken the resort to great heights including winning consecutive TripAdvisor Traveler’s Choice awards, being one of few general managers in Fiji who endeavoured to keep their resort open (non-quarantine facility) during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, and recently winning Accommodation Deluxe and Cultural Tourism Champion awards for the Resort in the Fiji Excellence in Tourism Awards 2022.

He has also been an adamant community figure in ensuring that schools, hospitals, various communities, and orphanages have their needs met by the resort’s responsible business arm which specialises in humanitarian projects focusing on people, community, and the planet.

On his return from the conference, Mr Homsy was welcomed by the resort staff members with a traditional Fijian welcoming ceremony to celebrate his achievements.

In his speech, he credited the resilience and efforts of his staff for the success of the resort.

The recognition was bestowed upon Mr Homsy during the Asia Pacific General Managers’ Conference held in Bali, Indonesia, in March 2023.
