FIJI’S lightweight champion and WBA Oceania Lightweight Champion, Mikaele “High Voltage” Ravalaca, makes his thrilling boxing return tonight at the Bluewater Boxing Promotion’s “Lawaqa Rumble” at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka.

He’s set to clash with the formidable Kaliova Tahakia in what promises to be a fierce showdown.

Fresh off his recovery from a tough hand injury, Ravalaca is fired up and hungry to reclaim victory after a tough unanimous points loss to the 19-year-old Ethiopian sensation, Zewdu Haymanot Desalegn, at last year’s International Boxing Association World Championships in Dubai — a fight he battled through with a fractured arm.

Under the relentless guidance of trainer Osea Nanovu, this Ra native has reignited the explosive power and blistering speed that earned him the “High Voltage” moniker.

Known for his devastating, razor-sharp combinations, Ravalaca has knocked out six of his last eight opponents — a true force to be reckoned with.

In a fiery message posted on Facebook by his coach, a pumped-up Ravalaca sent a clear warning to Tahakia: “Come prepared and stay sharp — if you don’t, I will end this fight immediately,” he vowed confidently.

His opponent, Kaliova Tahakia of the Butterfly Boxing Club, is also on a mission.

After a stunning fourth-round TKO loss to New Zealand National PBCNZ Welterweight champion Sonny Morini, Tahakia is determined to bounce back.

Despite his defeat Tahika displayed immense heart and resilience and is confident of neutralising the “High Voltage” tonight.

The electric Bluewater Boxing Promotion kicks off at 4pm this afternoon at Lawaqa Park, Sigatoka, with gates opening to the public from 3pm.
