THE Blue Water Boxing Promotion this weekend promises to be the ultimate redemption for two of Fiji’s heavyweight stars, headlining the Lawaqa Rumble in Sigatoka.

Former Fiji heavyweight champion James “The Beast” Singh is set to face Sanivalati “The Warrior” Ratu in the main event.

As the first local heavyweight champion of Indian descent, Singh is one of Fiji’s top boxers, boasting an impressive record of 13 wins and 8 losses.

Despite announcing his intention to retire after his July 2025 defeat to Semi Dauloloma, “The Beast” made a comeback earlier this year defeating Isaia Raqila via a second-round TKO.

His dominant performance confirmed he remains a major contender in Fiji’s heavyweight boxing scene, and a victory over the relentless Ratu could set up another showdown against arch-rival Fiji’s reigning heavyweight champion Semi Dauloloma.

In a Facebook video, Singh paid tribute to the promoter for staging the fight in Sigatoka, a town renowned for producing some of Fiji’s finest boxing talent — making it the perfect venue for his return.

“I wish my opponent all the best. We used to train together, but a fight is something entirely different. We look forward to it. Vinaka Sigatoka, and we’ll see you out there,” he said.

Meanwhile, his opponent, “The Warrior” Ratu, embodies the passion of Fijian boxing — a fighter who thrives on the sport’s brutal nature, never shies away from a challenge, and promises to fight until the very end.

The Blue Water Boxing promotion program will begin at 4 pm in Lawaqa Park, Sigatoka while the gates open at 3 pm to the public.
