Despite his heavy involvement in the business, political and national sphere, the late Vinod Chandra Patel valued unity and taught his children to enjoy life and be there for the people.
Daughter Leena Patel shared this with about 1000 mourners at the funeral of the iconic Ba businessman yesterday.
Ms Patel said her father lived a life that was inspirational to many, and had a passion for life and love that was unmatched. Reminiscing their early days in their Ba home, Ms Patel remembered her father as a great cook and a devoted family man who always encouraged people to be the best they could be.
“Growing up with dad was fun and fulfilling,” the emotional daughter said.
“His love for mum was so pure.
“He taught us to enjoy life and value unity.”
While the former Parliamentarian committed most of his life to ensuring development in the Ba township, he also taught his children to always be there for the people.
“He was the best dad.
“He was fiercely loyal and achieved success from the kindness of his heart.”
His eldest son Daksesh Patel also shared that his late father treated everyone the same and with dignity and respect.
