THE Institute of Internal Auditors Fiji is well known for its after-conference Gala dinner.
This event is usually themed and comes with entertainment, drinks and a world class dinner for delegates and guests.
This opportunity to wind down is a welcome relief for conference participants who are intensely engaged in discussions during the two-day forum.
Of significance at this year’s dinner at the Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay, was the IIA Fiji’s decision to include a program to acknowledge the sponsors, speakers, supporters and suppliers.
Also for the time, the IIA Fiji held an awards program which included; Future is Bright Award, Leadership Impact Award; Team Impact Award; and Making a Difference Award.

This award is reserved for an individual who has contributed significantly to the advancement of the global profession and who has demonstrated an exemplary commitment to success in their auditing career in the 2016 calendar year — and who by April 30, 2017, is not
more than 30 years old.

This award recognises professionals working in any industry who can best demonstrate an exceptional contribution to the success of their organisation.
The winner was Saleshni Warran, the Group manager Internal Audit, Risk and Compliance at Fijian Holdings Ltd.
* Team Impact Award
This award recognises teams that can best demonstrate a high level of value adding to their organisation.
The winner was the Fiji Revenue and Customs Authority Internal Audit.

This award recognises exceptional dedication and leadership in the development of the profession, awareness and institution functions.
The winner of this award was the Auditor General, Ajay Nand.
* Lifetime Achievement
Award
This was presented to IIA Fiji founder, Mr Rusco Bavon who started the institute in 1997.
