“Love is our true destiny. We do not find the meaning of life by ourselves alone — we find it with another. A heart is not judged by how much you love, but by how much you are loved by others.” (Thomas Merton).
Today is February 14 and it is Valentine’s Day. This day for so long has been dedicated to loved ones. Red will no doubt be the colour of the day. Chocolates, gift packs, red roses, food packs and family get together will be the order of the day.
It is my hope and prayers that today we will spend quality time with our loved ones, families and friends.
In fact, Valentine’s Day should be celebrated every day. We do not have to shower our loved ones with expensive gifts to show them that we love them and care for them. All we need is a simple loving and caring message to show them that we are there for them.
For many of our working people today will just be another Sunday of serving the public in a supermarket or restaurant.
For me, spending quality time with family is something that I look forward to.
I wish all our loved ones a happy and blessed Valentine’s Day. May this day be filled with a lot of fun and sweet memories. This is also an opportunity to mend relationships.
May the choicest blessings of the good Lord be upon each one of us and we continue to enjoy the many Valentine’s days ahead of us together in unity and in joy!
