HABITAT for Humanity has announced the appointment of financial accountant Elizabeth Peters as its new Project Finance Manager.
With more than a decade of experience in chartered accounting, including audit, financial reporting, donor compliance and team leadership, Ms Peters brings a wealth of knowledge and dedication towards strengthening financial integrity and transparency.
Her recent roles include Grant Finance Specialist with the USAID Pacific American Fund and Manager Tax and Assurance at Ernst & Young Fiji where she led financial statement reviews, developed training programs, and contributed to global finance system innovations.
“Elizabeth has worked extensively across the Pacific region, supporting donor-funded projects and building capacity in financial reporting and compliance,” the institution said in a statement.
“Elizabeth is deeply passionate about building safe and resilient homes, having witnessed firsthand the transformative impact it has on families.
“Through her role at Habitat for Humanity Fiji, she aims to apply her financial expertise to strengthen transparency and accountability – both within the organisation and in collaboration with partners across the housing sector.”
On her LinkedIn profile, Ms Peters said in her role, reporting to the Head of Operations and Finance, she would provide post-award financial oversight, manage risk and compliance due diligence, and oversee full-cycle accounting.
“I also lead internal and external audits, manage project and organisational financial reporting, and support policy development to enhance financial efficiency and compliance,” she said.
Ms Peters obtained a degree majoring in accounting with a minor in economics from the University of the South Pacific.
